The hem that the woman with the issue of blood reached out and touched was a tassel that hung from Jesus’ garment. There were 4 tassels! Hem in Greek is “kraspedon” meaning a tassel of twisted wool. This word in the Greek language means fringes. The woman was reaching for the fringes of His Garment. It was required to be on the four corners of the clothing of every Jewish male in accordance with God’s instructions. In Hebrew this was referred to as “Kanaph” meaning wings, extremity, skirt, corner (of Garment).
These cords were refereed to as Wings. She knew if she could just touch the wings, she would be in a place where He covers her. If you look at the ark of the covenant it had 2 cherubim’s or 2 bad mamba jamba angels 🙂
Theses angels extended their wings over the Ark of the Covenant, over the mercy seat. It’s a representation of Jesus Christ. She knew if I can get beneath HIS WINGS, I can be in place where I can touch and receive His mercy!
To receive His mercy you must stay below or beneath HIS WINGS, never can you go higher than Him! Never can you get even with Him, but we need to know our place and stay below Him .We need to know who has all Authority. Humanity has the habit of trying go over or beyond God, but you can’t go beyond God. God is Everywhere! He is infinity to infinity and then +1
There’s not a more comfortable place than beneath HIS WINGS. When you are beneath Him, He is your Covering, but He can’t cover you if you won’t stay beneath Him.
Psalms 91:4 He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.
All the devil wanted was to be even with Him, to be equal. he didn’t know his place. There’s to many people other than God trying to be god. They put there wants and desires over His. They determine their steps instead of allowing God to direct their path. They elevate their wants over His wants. How can God save you if your ways are above His ways?
This is simple thought “If I can admit that I’m below Him, then I admit that He is above me!
So if its so simple then why do so many struggle with it?
