” The UnExpected”

Posted: July 17, 2015 in Uncategorized

Baseball has been deemed as America’s favorite past time sport. I say that because unless you are a diehard fan, the first few games of the season are interesting and the last few games are interesting but every game in between is irrelevant. It is very seldom that I can muster enough patients to watch a full game. It’s good for relaxation, it’s good for nap preperation. It’s something to keep the mind entertained until football season getting rolling but to be honest its plain ole boring!

If there is one thing that catches my eye, its seeing a power hitter at the plate. A player that can change the entire momentum of the game with just one swing of the bat.  Power hitters live and die by the hardball. Players like Mcguire, Bonds, Sosa, and Arod. They taught rookies lessons, they had the respect of the veterans, they own the stat books and they may one day all be in the MLB Hall of Fame.

These players made a career of putting the ball over the fence, they would leave the yard, going going gone! They would approach the plate, filling up most of the batters box, they would dare for a pitcher to throw the heat, to throw it as hard as they can into their hot zone, with great anticipation these batters would rare most of their weight back, come forward into full stride, release their hands to meet the UnExpected. They meet the curve. The curve ball can control the best hitters in the game. Curve balls are deceptive. They come out of a pitchers hand looking like a fast ball. The purpose of a curve ball is balance.

I would like to tell you that your life will be everything you imagine it to be. Every thought that sprints through your mind will come together exactly like you had it planned. When you set sail you will reach your designated course . Point A will align with Point B. There’s no need for Plan B because Plan A was “ordained” from heaven. The stars will align in your favor. You will walk in God’s favor, for a righteous man’s footsteps are ordained by God, and oh let me tell you they are.
Unfortunately at some point the UnExpected will bring us back into reality.
Dreams and hopes will be accompanied with real life events. Jobs come and jobs go. Loved ones ready or not leave this world. Relationships evaporate into thin air. Health is perfectly fine and then all of a sudden it’s not.
It’s this terribly beautiful thing called life! We should plan for today, but recognize tomorrows uncertainties. We must learn to adapt to the UnExpected.

James says in 4:13-14
Go to now, ye that say, Today or tomorrow we will go into such a city, and continue there a year, and buy and sell, and get gain: Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.
The only thing in life I’ve come to expect are the Lord’s faithfulness and the UnExpected!

The UnExpected brings some weird form of balance into our lives. Everyone must be balanced. Balance is what makes the world go round!

Life will throw you a Curve. The difference between being successful or not is your ability to adapt. Curve balls can be devastating. They make the best hitters in the world look foolish at times. The secret is the curve ball is the easiest ball to hit out the park. You just have to be patient, and eventually the world will throw you a hanger, its up to you to hit it out of the park!
